Permits, Zoning & Codes Enforcement

 As a property owner, it is your responsibility to read and review local and county stipulations before beginning your project. It is recommended that you contact the Residential or Commercial Zoning Officer before beginning any type of project, to confirm whether or not a permit is required. 

For residential resale, a residential resale inspection (or UNO inspection) is not required in the Borough

Kraft Municipal Group

Kraft Municipal Group serves as the Borough's third-party agency for property maintenance code and building code review and enforcement of the Uniform Construction Code, including plan reviews, the issuance of building permits, building permit related inspections, property maintenance code inspections and rental inspections. Any complaints received by the Borough are thoroughly investigated by Kraft Municipal Group and the Borough and appropriate actions are taken.

McCarthy Engineering serves as the Borough's third-party agency for commercial Zoning, commercial and residential engineering reviews, bid preparations, site work analysis for Borough street, utility, and other infrastructure related projects.

Zoning Hearing Board

The Borough of Wyomissing Zoning Hearing Board reviews and takes action on zoning related matters brought forth by applicants seeking a variance or special exception from the Borough of Wyomissing's Zoning Ordinance. Zoning Hearing Board meetings are scheduled on an as needed basis, as applications are received and in compliance with the Municipalities Planning Code (MPC).

Fire Marshal

The Borough's Fire Marshal performs commercial fire inspections and issues fire code violations, as well as enforces open burning, and performs fire investigations.
