Recreation

Finding a space to play in Wyomissing is no hard task! With four playgrounds, tennis courts, numerous ballfields, a municipal pool, and over 350 acres of open and wooded parklands, residents have so many opportunities to explore and have fun! Please abide by all posted playground and parkland rules to keep our space (and yours) beautiful and safe for years to come!

Programs

As part of the Recreation program, various free events are held throughout the year including concerts and movies, seasonal themed events, and parades. Many individuals and organizations also dedicate their time and talents to provide youth scouting and sporting programs in our community.

For Borough residents, the recreation program also features a summer playground program, youth tennis program, and pool membership opportunities (fees apply and registration is required).

To learn more about recreation events and programs in our community, and to register for programs, visit the Wyomissing MyRec Parks and Recreation page.

Rental Facilities

Looking for a location to host a gathering? Residents have rentable facilities options including two park pavilions, the Stone House, the pool, and the pool pavilion.

Parkland History

Mr. Ferdinand Thun purchased the land and structures on both sides of the Wyomissing Creek in 1929. These areas were diligently preserved in excellent condition. In the 1970s, the land was transferred to the Borough of Wyomissing, allowing it to be used as parkland. The Borough of Wyomissing currently maintains the park system and encourages Wyomissing residents and visitors to experience and enjoy this beautiful natural feature of the Borough.
