Fire Department
The Borough of Wyomissing Fire Department is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to serve and protect life and property of residents, business owners, and visitors of the Borough. We promote public safety by participating in educational outreach opportunities, yearly smoke detector neighbor canvasing, yearly station open house, commercial fire inspections, and responding to emergent and non-emergent calls. We also strive to educate our community with resources to promote self-awareness and personal safety.
The Wyomissing Fire Department (WFD) is a combination Fire Department staffed by Career and Volunteer personnel providing service to the residents of Wyomissing Borough and surrounding communities. WFD personnel provide many services to the residence which includes Fire, Rescue and Medical Emergency Responses, Fire Prevention and Community Outreach and Fire Safety Inspections. In 2015, an agreement was reached with Spring Township to provide administrative and operational management services for the Borough of Wyomissing Fire Department. This agreement provides a shared Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, procedures, equipment, training and cross coverage of personnel in both municipalities.
